Deck Building Basics
Learn the fundamentals of building a winning deck in Colvaron Conquest with tips for new players.
Building your first deck? This guide covers the essentials every player needs to know.
The Foundation
Every deck in Colvaron Conquest needs:
- One Character - Your deck’s leader and win condition
- Companions - Support units that fight alongside your Character
- Action cards - Spells and abilities that swing the game
The Element Question
Mono-Element
Sticking to one element offers:
- Maximum synergy between cards
- Consistent strategy
- Easier to build for beginners
Multi-Element
Mixing elements provides:
- More versatile answers
- Surprise factor
- Access to powerful cross-element combos
Our recommendation: Start mono-element, then experiment once you understand card interactions.
Curve Considerations
Balance your costs! A deck with too many expensive cards will struggle early, while too many cheap cards may run out of steam.
A typical distribution:
- Low cost (1-2): 12-15 cards
- Mid cost (3-4): 15-18 cards
- High cost (5+): 5-8 cards
Common Mistakes
- Too many “win more” cards - Focus on cards that help when you’re behind, not just ahead
- No removal - Always include ways to deal with opponent threats
- Ignoring the meta - Know what popular decks do and prepare counters
Practice Makes Perfect
The best way to improve is to play! Test your deck, note what works and what doesn’t, and iterate.
Good luck, and may the elements favor you!
